Production: The Utrechts Kamer Koor (UKK) brings toegether with two choirs from België, Dameskoor ZIMRA and Koor Floriaan, the concert Drieluik. Commissioned by the three choirs the Flemish lyricist Veerle Demuynck wrote the poem Triptiek (Triptich) especially for this unique collaboration, on which the Dutch composer Mirjam de Wit compoes the choral triptich. The three choirs will perform this Triptiek together, each choir will also perform music individually. The concert wil be held first in Utrecht, in 2025 in Antwerpen and in 2027 in Izegem. Production: Opera The Russian War is performed by M.A. Intorno during Wereldhavendag (World Port Day). The opera tells the story of the 800 Georgian soldiers of the 822nd Georgian infantry battalion who were prisoners of war of the German army on Texel during the Second World War. They revolt when they hear that they have to go to Arnhem to be deployed against the Allies. The battle begins on April 6, 1945 at one o'clock in the morning. The fighting continued until the Canadians put an end to this on May 20, 1945. Two perfromances were on 20 may. Production: The concert Van donker naar licht (From dark to light) is performed by ensemble and organ. The starting point is the last work of the composer Lili Boulanger: the Pie Jesu. Lili Boulanger belonged to the first generation of women to be admitted to a conservatory. She was also the first composer to win the highly prestigious Prix de Rome. Two reasons why Lili did not become as well known as contemporaries Maurice Ravel and Claude Debussy are that she died young and that she was a woman. For centuries, no serious attention has been paid to female composers. Lili Boulanger deserves – still – a larger audience. Boulanger was a master of timbre and instrumentation. The Pie Jesu is an excellent example of this. She wrote it for a unique line-up, namely: string quartet, harp, organ and soprano, which provided a special timbre and innovative music. The Utrecht composer, singer and conductor Monique Krüs was commissioned to write a piece for exactly this line-up. Production: Opera The Russian War is performed by M.A. Intorno during Wereldhavendag (World Port Day). The opera tells the story of the 800 Georgian soldiers of the 822nd Georgian infantry battalion who were prisoners of war of the German army on Texel during the Second World War. They revolt when they hear that they have to go to Arnhem to be deployed against the Allies. The battle begins on April 6, 1945 at one o'clock in the morning. Production: Colorful opera open air concert with diverse repertoire by Koor Op Zuid completed with a mixed Turkish choir from the neighborhood, accompanied by a good professional Sas player. Location is the field behind BSO De Wissel at the Spoorweghaven. The building of de Wissel lends itself well to the acoustics and also offers a fall-back opportunity to sing in the school building if the weather is bad. The field is large and also has a playground for children. Koor op Zuid is a choir for and by Rotterdammers in the neighbourhood. The different cultural backgrounds of the choir members are reflected in the various repertoire. Last year during the Rotterdam Opera Days a first concert took place of Koor op Zuid in the Peperklip in Feyenoord. This year is a second concert in the green city hallway of the Spoorweghavenpark.
